The  small  port  of  kirinda  on  the sout cost about 10 km south of  tissamaharama is  a strage  and  haunting place bypassed by most visitors. here  there is  a rocky outcrop from  with can  be obtained some magnificent  views  of  this  desolate  coast with its  long  stretch  sand dunes and the ocean beyond.  on  the clear day lighthouse on  the great  basses  reef  appears  like aneedle in  the far danc .that is not all,for it you reverse your gaze youcan see Thissamaharama in detail,specialy the glistening dome of the Maharama Dageba.
